Texpad macOS 1.7.29 & Sierra update
20 Sep 2016

Despite the innocuous 1.7.28 to 1.7.29 change, this is our biggest bugfix update ever.

Firstly, there have been a number of problems with the PDFKit based viewer for some time now caused by the underlying PDFKit framework. We have solved this by ditching PDFKit and writing our own viewer. This has had the benefit of allowing us to add configuration options and features not possible with an externally provided.

Texpad’s Autosense and typesetting systems have also been greatly upgraded in this version. Autosense correctly guesses the configuration in many more situations now, and we have added support for automatic typeset of multibib, splitindex and xindy.

Other than this, we fixed a few issues related to Sierra before it releases later, and we worked through a huge number of minor bugs reported to us. The list is too long to reproduce here, but the full details can be found in the release notes.

You may not get this update right away, as for the first time, we are phasing the release across our userbase, but by this time next week you should have Texpad 1.7.29 available for download.
